Globalization and Its Affects
Globalization is the process of growing integration of economies and societies around the world. It refers to economic globalization throughà trade,à foreign direct investment, capital flows,à migration and the spread of technology. The principle of globalization is free markets, reduction of barriers in exchanging and trading goods,à which makesà the specialization in export-import. However, globalization has not only positive, butà alsoà negativeà effects.Firstly,à ità isà necessary to mention that globalizationà makesà our societyà develop. It helps to shareà ideas and innovations. Globalizationà has anà impact on economic growth in the world. An impact of Foreign Direct Investment on economic growth has had a positive growth effect in wealthy countries andà has led to an increaseà in trade resulting in higher growth rates. On the other hand, many firms from developed countries outsourced their manufacturing to so-called third world countries , whereà the labourà costs areà low.Workers from developed countries areà not happy about that, because they feel thatà their jobs areà taken from them. Another problem of globalization and outsourcing is that it encourages slavery and child labour. Furthermore, Ià wouldà à like to add that people become more social when thereà areà no borders between countries. They can move freely from state to state, share their ideas and beliefs. In everyday life we feel an impact of globalization as weà canà enjoy foreign cuisines, music, art, movies or even learn foreign languages. However, globalizationà causesà à huge damage to national culture, because weà are greatly influenced byà more developed countries and we cannotà resist it. Ità isà knownà that globalization is about sharing novelties. Medicine and health careà areà improving all the time. Globalization helps doctors and scientists from all over the world share ideas and even work toget her soà thatà they can reach better results and make new discoveries. However, globalizationà is thought to have contributed to theà spreadà ofà diseases, especially AIDS.When it appeared inà theà USA, it was known just in some African states. Owing to the processà of globalization and colonization,à ità hasà spread in the whole world. On balance, globalization is spreading rapidly inà contemporaryà world. It improves economicà tiesà between countries and helps to createà aà barrier-free trading system. Although ità has beneficialà influenceà onà economy, globalization makesà an adverseà impact on culture and traditions.
